A federal legislator is expected to understand the issues affecting constituents, contribute to legislation, participate meaningfully in committee work and bring national policy conversations back to the realities of the people being represented.
Odidiomo entered the House of Representatives in 2019 and served on committees covering areas including Appropriation, Communications, Housing, ICT, Petroleum Resources, Police Affairs, Science and Technology and Tertiary Education during the 9th Assembly. In the 10th Assembly, he took on the chairmanship of the House Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity.
From the Constituency to the National Conversation
His legislative interests have increasingly intersected with technology, data, cybersecurity and digital development.
For example, a 2023 House proceeding recorded a motion involving data storage, data protection and the flow of information within security agencies, with Odidiomo among the sponsors.
This is the other side of constituency representation — the work that may not always be visible from the streets of Ibadan but can influence how institutions function nationally.
