Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidi-Omo)

Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidi-Omo, is a Nigerian legislator, technology professional, entrepreneur, and public servant whose career spans information technology, business leadership, and public service. He currently represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, where he has distinguished himself through people-centred representation, legislative innovation, and advocacy for technology-driven national development.

Born on 12 October 1964 into the respected Akuru family of Agbeni, Ibadan, Oyo State, Odidi-Omo was raised with values of integrity, discipline, hard work, and service to humanity—principles that have continued to define both his professional and political life.

Education

Odidi-Omo began his educational journey at Alaafia Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan, before proceeding to Methodist High School, Ibadan for his secondary education. Driven by a passion for science and technology, he later relocated to the United States, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Management from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, Arizona.

His academic journey was complemented by advanced professional training and certifications in Cloud Computing Architecture, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Systems, Oracle eBusiness Suite, Data Protection, Project Management, and Systems Architecture, laying the foundation for a distinguished international technology career.

Professional Career

Before entering politics, Odidi-Omo built an accomplished career in the United States as an Information Technology professional, spending more than 25 years designing, implementing, and managing enterprise technology solutions for leading global organisations, including several Fortune 50 companies. His work covered cloud computing, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, systems integration, high-performance computing, and digital transformation.

Throughout his career, he held senior technical and leadership positions with organisations such as Verizon, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Qwest Communications, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Stanford Health Care, and Bentley Worldwide Services, where he served as a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect and Systems Architect on complex enterprise projects.

After returning to Nigeria in 2008, he combined his international experience with entrepreneurship by expanding Bentley Energy Nigeria Limited, where he serves as Group Executive Director, while continuing to contribute to technology innovation and business development.

Journey into Public Service

Although successful in business and technology, Odidi-Omo remained deeply connected to his roots in Ibadan. Motivated by a desire to give back to his community, he became actively involved in grassroots development through humanitarian initiatives, educational support programmes, healthcare interventions, youth empowerment, and community infrastructure projects long before seeking elective office.

His commitment to service culminated in his election to the House of Representatives in 2019, representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency. Following what many constituents regarded as impactful representation, he was re-elected in 2023 to continue serving in the 10th National Assembly.

Legislative Leadership

In the National Assembly, Odidi-Omo currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, where he provides legislative leadership on issues relating to digital innovation, cybersecurity, technology policy, and Nigeria’s digital economy. His professional background has enabled him to contribute meaningfully to national conversations on technology-driven governance, digital inclusion, and cybersecurity resilience.

His legislative work has also focused on youth empowerment, digital literacy, education, infrastructure development, and initiatives that improve access to technology for schools and underserved communities. Under his leadership, Digital Learning Centres have been established in secondary schools within his constituency to prepare young people for opportunities in the digital economy.
